Navigating the Cultural Landscape: Crafting the Research Master Plan for the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Airlangga

In a world of rapid change and evolving dynamics, the Faculty of Humanities at Universitas Airlangga has charted an ambitious course for the future. This journey is marked by an unwavering commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the intricacies of the human experience. As we set sail towards the horizon of the Research Master Plan for 2022-2026, we find ourselves guided by a profound understanding of the intricate web of cultural forces at play.

A Continuum of Cultural Forces

The foundation of our approach lies in recognizing the continuous series that connects five fundamental elements: Production, Consumption, Regulation, Representation, and Identity. These elements are not isolated; they intertwine, influence one another, and collectively shape the complex fabric of our society. It’s important to understand that ‘Production’ here isn’t limited to the creation of physical objects but encompasses the entirety of human cultural practices and expressions.

A Framework for Exploration

Our roadmap for crafting the Research Master Plan is grounded in a holistic framework that draws from a wealth of sources:

Our research is not confined to the classroom; it extends to the heart of society, addressing real-world challenges and shaping our cultural landscape. Our ambition is to be at the forefront of academic excellence and to redefine the boundaries of knowledge.

In embracing the continuous series of Production, Consumption, Regulation, Representation, and Identity, we recognize the profound impact these elements have on our lives and the world. Our Research Master Plan for 2022-2026 is our commitment to explore, understand, and shape this intricate cultural web.
