In principle, the Historical Science is a past which is attached to our daily life. The establishment of the Department of Historical Science in 1998 strongly support the various needs of writing and recording of the internal and external past institutions. It cannot be denied, such role is quite significant in developing and promoting Historical Science as study of epistemological knowledge and literacy enrichment of the past, which has been produced by historians or authors and other researchers, including the work of Historical Science faculty. Therefore, it is not surprising if serial publication of history books, national and international journals have been generated by our lecturers, including their students. It is a scientific actualization and manifestation of knowedge that we have and a deep sense of scientific responsibility.<\/p>\n

Learning gains that have been implemented aim to producing civilized, intelligent, skillful, righteous and being able to adapt to rapidly evolving technologies. We are very happy because the alumni of Historical Science of Universitas Airlangga work and create in various disciplines and fields, among others are; being professors, lecturers, researchers, journalists, bankers, bank clerks, businessmen and others.<\/p>\n

Historical science disciplines of Universitas Airlangga have done a metamorphosis in the process of science development, the formation of nation character by national values through learning history of Indonesia with its diversity. No other in order to increase national awareness, improve nationality insights, social awareness, and skills in documentation of historical events either in writing, visualization and verbal.<\/p>\n

We come into a phase towards global competition and international labor market. Several guest lecturers often share their knowledge with students. They come from the Netherlands, USA, Australia, Japan, and Malaysia, including from domestic universities (UGM, UI, Universitas Jember, and others). A few years ago, there established the international research cooperation, scientific journal writing and other academic activities at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Freek Colombijn, Ph.D). Routinely, Prof. Ronnie Hatley (USA) and Robbie Peters, Howard Dick (Australia) stop over in the Department of Historical Science in order to share their knowledge.
