Credits System is a system of education implementation related to student study load, lecturer\u2019s burden, and burden of organizing an educational institution program expressed in credit unit. Semester Credit System (SKS) is a system of implementation of education by using credit units of semester (SKS) to express student study load, lecturer workload, learning experience, and program implementation burden.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Credit System Objectives<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

  • The general objective of applying the credit system at the Universitas Airlangga Faculty of Humanities is to meet the demands of development because in its implementation, it is possible for the presentation of educational programs and learning events are more varied and flexible, thus giving wider possibilities for students to choose the program toward a kind of academic level or the particular profession\/skill demanded by development, through the planning of its learning events from semester to semester.<\/li>
  • The specific objectives of applying the Semester Credit System are to:<\/li><\/ul>
      1. Provide opportunities for capable and well-studied students who can complete the study in a relatively short time, according to their abilities and plans;<\/li>
      2. Provide opportunities for students to take courses appropriate to their talents, interests, and abilities;<\/li>
      3. Open the possibility of implementation of the education system with more diverse inputs and outputs;<\/li>
      4. Facilitate the adjustment of the curriculum over time, in accordance with the development of science and technology as well as the rapidly changing needs of society today;<\/li>
      5. Allowing the evaluation system to study student learning progress can be conducted in a more rigorous and more objective manner; and<\/li>
      6. Enables transfer of inter-faculty credit\/study programs within Universitas Airlangga.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

        Characteristics of Credit System<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

        Characteristics of the Credit System are as follows:<\/p>

        • The burden of student study in a course is expressed in a unit of value called a semester credit (SKS);<\/li>
        • Semester credit are units of appreciation from the learning experience gained during 1 (one) semester through scheduled activities per week, 1 (one) hour tutorial, or 2 (two) hours of practicum, or 4 (four) hours of work, each accompanied by about 1-2 hours of unstructured structured activity and about 1-2 hours of independent activity. One hour lecture equal to 50 minutes;<\/li>
        • The credit score for each course is determined on the basis of an effort which, according to estimates, is required to complete the tasks relating to the course, and stated in the course program, practicum, fieldwork, and other tasks; and<\/li>
        • The credit score for each course can be different.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

          Value and Expenses of Semester Credit Units<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
          \n\t\t\t\t
          \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

          The determination of value and credit unit expenses for semester 1 (one) credits are as follows.<\/p>

          • The value of 1 (one) lecture credits for students are determined based on the activity load per week for 1 (one) semester, which is:<\/li>
            1. 1 (one) hour scheduled face-to-face with lecturers, for an example, in the form of lectures;<\/li>
            2. 1 (one) hour academic activity unstructured but planned lecturers, for example making homework, working on questions, and other tasks outside the classroom;<\/li>
            3. 1 (one) hour of independent academic activity, i.e. activities that must be done by students independently to explore, prepare, or other purposes of academic, such as reading reference books.<\/li><\/ol><\/li>
            4. The value of 1 (one) lecture SKS for lecturers is determined based on the activity load per week for 1 (one) semester, which is:<\/li>
              1. 1 (one) hour scheduled face-to-face with students;<\/li>
              2. 1 (one) hour event of planning and evaluation of structured academic activities;<\/li>
              3. 1 (one) hour of course material development through reading and writing.<\/li><\/ol><\/li>
              4. Learning activities in the form of seminars requiring students to create and present papers, 1 (one) credits equivalent to unstructured unscheduled academic activity of 42 hours in 1 (one) semester;<\/li>
              5. Learning activities in the form of group discussions, 1 (one) credits equal to the task load of activities of 2 (two) hours per week in 1 (one) semester;<\/li>
              6. Learning activities in the form of field lectures \/ practical work and the like, 1 (one) credits equals field task load of 4 (four) hours per week, or equivalent to 80-90 accumulative hours in 1 (one) semester;<\/li>
              7. Learning activities in the form of research and\/or thesis writing, 1 (one) credits equal to 3-4 (three to four) hours a day in one month calculated 25 working days;<\/li>
              8. Practical learning activities, 1 (one) credits equals 2 (two) hours per week in 1 (one).<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
