The massive cultural dynamics of the first twenty years of the twenty-first century caused the map of science to undergo an extraordinary shift. Even daily activities that seem trivial have manifested in such a way—they feel both close and foreign—and carry a special value that is not even as simple as they appear.

This presents challenges as well as needs that must be accommodated. First, mastery of language, both Indonesian and foreign. Second, knowledge about the development of urban culture, which is very unique and rapidly changing. Third, high literacy levels, ability to write, read and use media and technology. Fourth, art and culture are important and profitable things to learn. Which big city does not make art and culture a superior product in the future? Fifth, in the coming years, people who have the above four abilities are needed.

The Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Airlangga built an exploration space that pays attention to the latest cultural issues in order to review, map, and formulate new values that are present around us, especially in urban areas.
